Monetary Donations
Help support our efforts to preserve and provide access to Santa Cruz County's unique local musical culture. As the project expands and grows, we must continually invest in the technological infrastructure and storage space required to preserve these precious sounds.
Your monetary donation is administered by the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, our fundraising and advocacy group. They are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, and all donations are tax deductible.
Album Donations
Donations of albums from musicians who do not wish to receive compensation may be considered. To be added to the online collection, donations must be submitted by the copyright holder of the album. These albums must meet the criteria set forth for inclusion in the collection.
Local musicians may donate CD's to be added to the physical collection of SoundSwell Local Music housed at the downtown branch regardless of copyright status or if some of the inclusion criteria cannot be met.

Historical Items and Albums
A major goal of the SoundSwell project is to establish a historical archive of local music that brings in other digitized pieces to create a more comprehensive understanding of the musical landscape of Santa Cruz County. To that end, the library is happy to accept historical items and memorabilia (or their digital equivalents) associated with musicians in the collection. The types of items that lend themselves to this type of exhibit might include:
- Music Videos
- Performance Photos
- Reviews from local news sources
- Concert Posters
- Oral Histories and Interviews
